China successfully launched the first national mobile telecommunication satellite, local media reported Sunday.
BEIJING (Sputnik) — According to the Xinhua news agency, the launch of the Tiantong-01 satellite was conducted on early Saturday at Southwestern China's Xichang Satellite Launch Center.
It is noted that the satellite was launched with the Long March-3B carrier rocket and it is expected to become a key part of the Chinese space information infrastructure.
