High temperatures and dehydration leads to an increase of the number of deaths among illegal migrants who attempt to cross the US-Mexican border during the summer.
“These certified agents are able to provide IVs and other technical medical attention to not only fellow agents but also the people they encounter while working in the field. Along with the paramedic/EMTs, all Border Patrol agents are certified in providing first-aid,” the release added.
In order to decrease the number of deceased, the Border Patrol will continue educating the public in regards to the risks and dangers associated with illegal crossings.
